I knew I wanted to be a designer as early as seven years old. In fact, I still have a binder somewhere filled with floor plans I designed in and around that period of my life. Naturally, they’re filled to the brim with swinging bridges, secret passageways, and hiding spots designed specifically for epic games of hide and seek – childhood priorities, and such. Thankfully, my design sensibilities have improved since then (even though they may not be quite as fun). Needless to say, seven year old me literally would have died at the idea of having her work published in a design magazine. I have always regularly flipped through them at any and every opportunity – literally since childhood – and it is beyond humbling to be able to do so now and see my work listed alongside folks I’ve admired for decades. I mean, it’s just #notreallife sometimes, you know?
You may remember seeing this project featured on this here blog before (if not, you can check that post out here), but it’s been re-shot, and re-featured, in all of its beautiful glory in a recent issue of Style at Home. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to pinch myself, all while I count my lucky stars. And send my client all of the thank you notes/flowers/champagne for letting us in to document their beautiful home again, and again. Oh, and a big thank you to Stacey Brandford for capturing this baby to perfection.
PS: Just in case you didn’t know about this feature, all of my client projects can be found under “Interiors” in the drop down menu above (or you can simply click here)
