My dear Clara recently tagged me in this fun little project entitled Coffee Talk. Essentially, she answered a handful of questions and asked 4 people to do the same. And since it’s Friday and all, I thought it’d be the perfect time to get it out there. Without further ado, here are a few bits and pieces you may (or may not have!) known about yours truly.
This cake right here? It’s my kryptonite. Ask anyone. You cannot leave me alone in a room with it as I will devour the ENTIRE thing. This is the cake that my mom whips up for me every year for my birthday, without fail. If I’m being totally honest, she actually makes two. One to share with whomever is at the table when the candles are blown out, and one for me to take home and hoard for myself (I’m not even the slightest bit ashamed, and I very rarely share the second). Up until recently, I never asked her for the recipe for two reasons. Number one: for the sake of my health, I should not be in possession of this knowledge. And number two, saving it for my birthday, and my birthday only, ensures that it remains special. That said, I’ve wanted to share it with you guys for a while now because it’s that. damn. good. And now that I know how easy it is, things are about to get interesting.
If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you’ll know by now that Christmas ranks high amongst my very favourite things. Though the excitement begins to mount in early November, I do my best to keep it at bay until my American friends have the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving in peace. I mean, it’s the least I can do! But today? Today I’m breaking the rules just a little. I’ve teamed up with Minted to give away a $150 gift card to one reader – which can be used towards ANYTHING in their shop. With Christmas merely weeks away, this COULD be your chance to order those Christmas cards (AND get them out on time!) You don’t send out Christmas cards you say? May I recommend this cake stand? I think I need this cake stand. Full entry details below!
