Our Trip to Jamaica

Have you ever gone on vacation and truly didn’t realize how desperately you needed it until your butt was plunked in the beach chair? Well that’s exactly what happened during our trip to Jamaica last week. Between running my blog, managing my interior design business, renovating our home, and planning our wedding, life lately has been an absolute whirlwind. I am eternally grateful – don’t get me wrong. Life is good – in fact it has literally never been better – busyness and all. But when our friends, Will and Kat, told us that they’d be tying the knot in Jamaica, I was originally a little overwhelmed by the idea of taking off for a week. But, as it seems to have proven to me time and time again, life gives you exactly what you need, just when you need it.

So we headed to Montego Bay, with 15 friends in tow, and witness two of our favourite people say their I do’s on the beach. And, you guys? It was glorious. Glorious! It took me a few days to adjust to our new schedule of a whole lot of nothing (and I mean NOTHING), but once I was in it, I was dedicated full force. To the point that some days re-applying sunscreen became the most daunting of my to do’s. A vacation at its very best, as far as I’m concerned.

I originally had every intention on exploring every last ounce of Jamaica, as it has long been on my list of places to visit, but once we hit the beach everything changed. And, if it wasn’t for my friend (and fellow blogger), Victoria, I likely wouldn’t even have any photos to share. I know – it would have been a total blogger fail. But alas, we prevailed, and did do some documenting. And while we didn’t tour as much of Montego Bay as I would have liked, we did manage to venture out, at least a little. Here’s a peek at our vacation, in photos.

A FEW THINGS I PACKED:

filed in  /

  1. Sounds like a blissful vacation! It’s exactly the type of vacation I take every summer in Florida. People think I’m crazy, but it’s an easy time to take off given my schedule, and all I want to do is nothing. I totally understand the effort needed for sunscreen application!

    • My grandparents had a condo in Florida growing up, and now my aunt and uncle have a vacation home down there. Some of my best memories are from Florida! No judgement here, it’s a wonderful place
