Beachy Waves In A Few Simple Steps

Hair tutorial: beach waves
Hi all, Aylin here, a hairstylist and owner of Cabello by Carolina. I adore creating versatile hairstyles that work for any occasion. So when Jacquelyn and Gaby asked me if I’d like to be a part of their bohemian themed picnic I couldn’t have been more excited. I love anything bohemian, beachy, and braids, so putting them all together was a no brainer.

It seems as is everyone is asking for beach waves these days, and it makes me incredibly happy. It’s a go-to hairstyle for me, and works with any length or texture. It’s cute all year round, and pairs perfectly with virtually any outfit. Whether you wear them down, or pull them back into a loose pony tail during especially hot days, you can’t go wrong. It’s so easy to re-create and I am so happy to share with you the step by step tutorial so you can rock beach waves of your very own.

Tools

Curling wand or Straightening iron
Wide tooth comb

Products

Bumble and Bumble Hairspray “Does it All”

Steps For Curling Wand (best for long hair)

No. 1.      Start by separating your hair into four sections.
No. 2.      Once your curling wand is all heated up, hold it upside down and, starting on the bottom sections of your hair, loosely wrap a small piece of hair around the iron and hold it there for about 15 seconds. Let it fall.
No. 3.      Continue wrapping small sections loosely around the barrel, working your way up.
No. 4.      Once you’re done, comb your hair with a wide tooth comb and spray it. Another trick is to
use your fingers to separate the loose curls.

Steps For Straightening Iron (best for short hair)

No. 1.      Separate the hair into four sections.
No. 2.      Again, start on the bottom half of your hair and work you way up.
No. 3.      Hold the straightener upwards, place a small section of hair in the straightener starting from the roots of the hair, and in a slow motion, curl outward. It might feel a little awkward with your wrist twisting out, but keep going until the end of your hair. It’s ok for the hair to not be curled at the ends, it gives it a better wavy look.
No. 4.      Once you’ve done all of your hair, again either run your fingers through your hair or with a wide tooth comb, comb your hair to separate the curls. Then spray, and you’re done.

Remember, beach waves don’t have to be perfectly curled. Remember to just loosely curl your hair, separate and spray at the end. This look is perfect for all your outfits and all year round, you can never go wrong with some beachy waves.
