While weekends in general are always welcomed with open arms in our household, this one was particularly wonderful. On Friday evening a handful of girlfriends and I made our way to the west end of the city to check out Rock Lobster. Caesars (with lobster tails!) were had, wine (on tap!) was guzzled and laughter was abundant. Oh, and the food was pretty great as well. There’s just something about girl time that always leaves me feeling incredibly rejuvenated.
On Saturday Justin and I invited some friends over to watch the first Leaf game of the season. Obviously I put together a cheese plate – because hockey, cheese and figs are a natural pairing, if you ask me. And Sunday was spent catching up with a dear friend over brunch (if you’re in Toronto, check out Rose & Sons. It just opened, the staff are incredible – one of them was wearing an ascot. AN ASCOT! It’s kind of the best) and the food was fabulous in a simple, unfussy, fancy-diner kind of way. All in all, a great weekend indeed. How was yours? I’d love to know!
