house envy:

There’s no question that my design aesthetic flip flops between that of the rustic variety and that of the contemporary, clean and modern one (with some Scandinavian thrown in for good measure, obviously). When I find a space that seamlessly merges all my design preferences together, it makes my innards all warm and fuzzy. This rustic-modern farmhouse is the perfect combination of all things I love. Glamorous and well thought-out without feeling museum like and untouchable. Yum!

The exterior of that house looks exactly like one near where I grew up. I haven’t the slightest clue what the interior looks like, but if it’s anything like this one, then I’m in love!

I’d really love to retire (I know, I’m a few decades away, but still) somewhere like this. Beautiful countryside, gorgeously rustic interiors, nothing but wind and the smell of the trees – it sounds like a dream!

I CONSTANTLY struggle between whether I want to live the urban city dweller life or escape to the countryside. I like the idea of doing so when I retire! Maybe that’ll be my new plan

  10. I love the exposed beams!

  11. It’s the wooden beams that do it for me every time!
