I always find it refreshing when a beach house avoids the use of soft blues, sheer curtains and seashell accessories. This one in particular is especially pleasing. Designer Amelia Handegan has done an exceptional job at transforming this 1940′s seaside home into a vacation retreat that feels relaxed and uncontrived, the way a vacation home is intended, all the while staying away from all things anchor and boat related.

I’m absolutely fond of the corridor’s tiles & the living-room with such a beautiful view of the sea! I’d love to be there!
I THINK the corridor is painted hardwood – either way, I agree with you! I love the mix of patterns
Beautiful – and I love the floors! :-)
I think the floors are my favourite part! I never thought stripes and checkerboard could work well together, but lo and behold
Oh how I long for a sunroom like this that over looks the beach!! *swoon*
it’s definitely on my wishlist
Gorgeous–that one entryway is so pretty!
I couldn’t agree more! Keep the sea shells in the sand people.
haha amen Leah!
Gorgeous!!!

I’m envious as well! I have a great house but we can’t afford to buy new furniture. So I’m still lusting at all these comfy sofas and matching chairs :)
haha Meagan! I totally know your predicament. Hey, at least you have the house. Now you can just save your pennies and really narrow it down to those pieces you love!
Awesome, Awesome, that blue chest of drawers, would be a great piece to have, and the white wood planks give that special feel for a beach home…..
I agree – the white wood floors definitely help evoke the beach feel without getting too literal
You had me at the first picture. ‘Bliss’ is the best word for this house!
wow, this house is dreamy! i love the kitchen and the black and white floor xx
