scenes from my weekend.

I managed to make it out for a friends birthday on Friday evening, embellished silk shirts, heels and all, only to have to leave unexpectedly early due to a sudden bout of nausea. Waking up in the wee hours on Saturday morning with the flu (or food poisoning – the verdict is still out) was not something I was anticipating. I’ve now been sick three separate times within the last five weeks (most of which have just blended into one another). I’m no doctor, but I’m going to make an educated guess and say that this isn’t normal. Having been on the go, working hard and playing harder the last few weeks have left me feeling drained, exhausted, and clearly susceptible to any and every bug in existence. I’m convinced that my getting sick (thrice) is a sign from the universe forcing me to slow down. So that’s just what I did. I cancelled my plans for the rest of the weekend, trading in dinner reservations, brunch dates and family parties for cozy flannel pyjamas, stacks of movies and japanese takeout. I definitely feel better this morning, and really hope that my health is on the up and up.
