One evening, some time ago, I was hit with a fierce craving for something sweet. I began perusing my usual food blogs in hopes of finding a recipe that would satisfy my craving and not force me to head out to the grocery store in the middle of the night to pick up additional items. When I stumbled upon this recipe for banana tatin I knew it was the one. Not only did it promise to satisfy my cravings, I also happened to have each ingredient on hand. The creaminess of the crème fraîche paired with the sweetness of the caramelized bananas is a combination that cannot be beat. And it was quickly declared the perfectly indulgent midnight snack. Although, for my hips’ sake, we will only be repeating this late-night process on rare occasions.
Have a lovely labour day weekend sunshines!

oooooooohhhhh yumm!
this happens to me more than frequently and i am so happy to have a new recipe! (my midnight snack go-to is pb&j on crackers with milk…it’s so comforting!)
i just discovered the flavor of home caramelized bananas as i tried a hopscotch cobbler (to me it really looks like a crumble, but as a native croatian i know nothing of crumbles :) or cobblers for that matter)
it was good, but i might try your one here! it looks delicious
oo! I like the sound of that one. I’ll have to give it a try
laugh out loud. im trying to watch my hips too, but ill give this a whirl ;)
it’s worth the calories!
I am going to save this one for my next midnight snack session. Glad not to have to go searching for such a tasty recipe late at night.
I made the Banana Tatin recipe and loved it. Delicious. And, apparently caramelizing is much, much easier than I thought. Thanks for the tip – I’ll be following for more!
